Chris Volpe is an artist, writer, and teacher whose paintings combine the traditional and the contemporary in treating the natural world as a site of introspection and metaphor. This solo exhibition includes many large and smaller landscapes and seascapes, vibrant abstract celebrations of nature, and a number of works from Loomings, Volpe’s series of tar paintings related to Melville’s Moby-Dick.
